USHPA uses File Transfer Protocol (FTP) drop boxes to receive content for the magazine. To use FTP, you must have a working FTP client. Refer to "Utilities" below for more information on clients. Filezilla is the most compatible software for our server.
The magazine/web editors have their own FTP site – all advertising materials for the magazine/web need to be deposited here. Please do not deposit anything that does not directly relate to advertising, such as calendar photos or documents, into this dropbox. Contact the office for more information on uploading calendar- or editorial-related materials.
Click here for info on uploading content for the calendar.
To access the Advertising dropbox:
Hostname: ftp://www.ushpa.aero or use 70.99.215.114
Navigate to: ftproot/LocalUser/advertisingdrop (name your folder First_Lastname and drop it in - email the Ad Manager when it's there including Folder name)
User ID: advertisingdrop
Password: USHPAfr33fl1ght
Once logged on, you'll be able to upload your files and view the listings for files and directories; however, you won't be able to view or download the files themselves, even those you create.
To keep things organized, please create on your desktop a folder with your name (firstname_lastname), place all your photos and text in this folder, and upload the folder to the dropbox.
Please contact the business manager (business@ushpa.aero) after you have successfully uploaded your material.
If you have any questions on how to transfer files or the dropbox is, for some reason, unavailable, contact the editor, or call the office at (800) 616-6888.
After you have submitted to the drop box you need to send an email alerting the editor. In this email please include a list of what was posted and your contact details. Thanks for submitting!
Connection to either dropbox requires the use of an FTP client and there are clients for every computing platform available today. These instructions will help you get linked up.
If you're using Microsoft Windows, using Internet Explorer may be problematic for uploading files, since MS has made changes to IE with respect to FTP. Some free FTP clients that come recommended are SmartFTP, WS FTP, or EngInSite DataFreeway.
If you're using Macintosh OS 9 or above, we recommend using File Zilla for uploading files. For Macintosh users who don't have File Zilla it can be downloaded free File Zilla. Fetch for Mac is NOT compatible. Users who want to use something other than File Zilla we recommend Transmit,or OneButtonFTP.
If you are using a Linux distribution, many FTP clients are available; gFTP works wonderfully.
Each FTP program works in a slightly different way so we can't provide exact step-by-step directions for each program but we can attempt to answer questions if you have problems. Feel free to contact us at (800) 616-6888 if you require assistance.
