Harness Buckle Safety Notices: Woody Valley AND Sup'Air

Woody Valley and Sup'Air have both issued Safety Notices about their lightweight harness buckles. One issue is with the properly engagement of the buckle when closing, the other is with wear on the harness strap. This is a good opportunity to check that all your harness buckles are working properly and the harness straps are unworn and intact. For more information on the Woody Valley issue: Woody Valley Safety Notice article. And for more information on the Sup'Air issue: Sup'Air Safety Note article.

Recycle Your Wing and Support the Cloudbase Foundation

KEEN Footwear and the Cloudbase Foundation are teaming up to Repurpose for a Purpose. Used (and no longer flight-worthy) paragliders and reserves will be sewn to make bags. These bags will be sold at KEENFest with all monies collected going directly to the Cloudbase Foundation's projects.

For more information: USHPA News: Support the Cloudbase Foundation or visit The Cloudbase Foundation website.

If you have an air-worthy glider that could be used to train beginners, the Cloudbase Foundation also has a donation program for that. Contact them directly: Cloudbase Foundation Donations. All donations (whether for recycling or training) are potentially tax-deductible.

Sup'Air Safety Notice

Be sure to check your Sup'Air reserve handle!

Sup'Air have reported that there could be an issue with the attachment of the reserve handle to the deployment bag. The original notice was for a few specific harnesses, but now has been expanded to include most Sup'Air harnesses: be safe and check your handle regardless of model! Make sure that the stitching of the piece attached to your reserve deployment bag is well secured to the handle (photo and links to the safety notice posted in Cross Country Magazine online article).
