2. MedjetAssist USHPA

Reduced annual Medjet rates are $205 (Individual $40 savings) and $325 (Family $60 savings) under age 75.

Enroll prior to travel. USHPA is required to have at least 12 participants per year to retain savings, and to receive an automatic 20% commission on new and 10% on renewing MedjetAssist members. Help yourself while helping support the programs at USHPA!

MedjetAssist Defined

A medical evacuation and repatriation membership program. As a member, if you are hospitalized more than 150 miles from home, domestically or abroad, Medjet will arrange comprehensive medical transportation to the hospital of your choice for inpatient care.

The MedjetAssist Membership

Domestic air medical evacuation averages $25,000 and internationally it can exceed $100,000. Medjet membership provides an alternative for individuals and organizational entities without facing high out of pocket costs.

* Individual and family protection

* In force during business and personal travel - both domestic and abroad * Medjet arranges transport to a hospital of our members' choice - not simply to the "nearest appropriate facility."

* The membership fee is the only cost for the medical transport services arranged by Medjet.

* No exclusions for hang gliding/paragliding adventure travel activities

* Illness/injury does not have to be serious or life-threatening for medical transport to occur

* Not an insurance policy; Medjet is a membership program with no dollar limit on transport costs and no deductibles, co-payments, subrogation or claim forms.

* No health questions to enroll under age 75; simply first/last name, primary address and DOB for each protected party. A separate "Diamond" program application is available for those 75-85.

* Annual membership allows for travel outside your country of origin for up to 90 consecutive days

5. iPad Hang Gliding Safety App (NOW FREE)

The United States Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (USHPA) recently announced the release of a mobile hang gliding safety iPad app available worldwide through Apple's App store. The new app focuses on pre-flight safety, skill development and flight techniques for all levels of hang gliding pilots. USHPA's Art Director, Greg Gillam, created the app with Paul Voight, a Master-rated hang gliding pilot, to provide broad access to the wide body of knowledge that has been collected over the last 30 years around the increasingly popular sport. This first-ever hang gliding app is an expanded mobile version of the USHPA film of the same name, "Pre-Flight Safety," delivers rich, interactive content in a highly useable format.
